Review of The Pumpkin Thief

Chloe Boston is back at work at her meter maid job for the Hope Falls Police Department.  She still wants to be a detective and she now has a new case to try to solve.  Someone is murdered at the haunted house and she and her friends are determined to figure out the killer.  And there is another mystery to solve, that of the pumpkin thief.  Someone is stealing the pumpkins in the community but there are no clues as to who the culprit is.  Between trying to solve both mysteries and trying to continue developing her relationship with Alex, she is one busy lady.

The author has a wonderful way of creating characters that are well developed, realistic and three dimensional.  They are definitely people you would want to be friends with and hang out with.   Chloe is strong willed, determined, funny and quirky.  She loves her family, friends and her dog, Blue.  I could read about her and Blue all day long.

The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read.  The mysteries are well-plotted and the solutions are plausible.  The descriptions pull you into the story and pull you along until the end of the book.  The combination of lovable characters and mysteries make this book a real winner for me.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good cozy mystery that has characters that you want to spend time with.  I cannot wait to continue my adventure with Chloe and Blue.
