Tensions rise at the fair when local orchard owner Calista Danforth discovers organizers have assigned her usual booth to Bread and Batter. Although a heated argument ensues between her and Molly, the bakery manages to rake in lots of dough. Review:

The characters are well developed and well rounded.  Molly and Olivia are best friends and I enjoyed getting to know them.  They are living their dream of owning their own bakery and they want to continue to be successful.  I also enjoyed getting to know Molly’s ex-husband and wondered if they might get back together again.  And her landlady was someone that I enjoyed getting to know.  The main characters and the supporting cast of characters made this book stand out for me.

The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and through much of the book I felt like I was right there, watching all the action take place around me.  The murder mystery was carried on well throughout the whole book.  There were enough twists and turns and suspects to consider, and I did not figure out the murderer on my own.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery.  There is humor, suspense, a great setting and likeable characters, all of the things that I look for in a cozy.  This is the first book in the series and I cannot wait to read the next book.
