Review:

There was a list of characters at the beginning of the book and it was very helpful in allowing me to keep the characters straight in my mind.  The characters were well developed and well rounded.

They are all tough people with a strong sense of right and wrong.  They will go above and beyond to protect those that need protecting.

The author took a very serious topic and wrote about it with a sense of hope.  The fact that there are people to help the abused, offering them a way out, providing shelter, counseling, medical care and even relocation, if needed, shows that there are still good people in the world.

The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and through much of the book, I felt like I was right there, watching all of the action taking place.  She is also very good at creating suspense with just the written word.  I found myself swiping pages as fast as I could, wanting to see what would happen next.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys suspense cozies.  This is the first book in the series, which means there are more books in the series to enjoy.
