Murder in Langley Woods: A completely addictive cozy mystery novel (A Melissa Craig Mystery Book 8) by [Rowlands, Betty]A body is found near a picture-perfect Cotswolds village… but the upstanding local residents couldn’t possibly be involved, could they?

Murder is the very last thing on Melissa Craig’s mind when one of her neighbours pops in to complain loudly about a minor local robbery. She’s far too busy thinking about her next book…

But when the evening paper lands, there is a shocking headline. A young woman’s body has been found in the nearby woods, and it seems the local robbery may offer a crucial clue. Suddenly the whole village is talking about the murder, but none of Melissa’s neighbours have come forward to say they know who the victim is.

Convinced that the police have got the wrong end of the stick, Melissa can’t resist doing some more digging. When she finds a photograph of the dead girl at her former family home, she realises this is the clue she needs, if only she can find out who took the picture…

Melissa finds an exciting new lead and rushes to follow it. But might she be walking into a trap? Can she work out the truth before she puts herself in harm’s way?

Death on Torrid Ave. (Secret Sleuth Book 2) by [McLinn, Patricia]Paws for a murder
Far from the publishing world that once defined her, Sheila Mackey has found a new life, a new home, and a new love. The love has four legs, a plumey tail, and a lot of fur. Meet Gracie the rescue collie. Too smart for her own good – certainly too smart for Sheila’s good, when Gracie discovers a dead body during a dog park gambol.
Especially since Sheila delves into mysteries surrounding this dead body … only to discover the new guy at the Torrid Avenue dog park is a barely retired cop. Not good for an amateur sleuth with a big secret of her own that she intends to keep. She’s not exactly who she says she is. At least, she’s not who she pretended to be for 15 years.
Will Sheila untangle the murder mystery before her secrets are untied, exposing her previous identity to her new small-town neighbors?
And will Gracie ever learn the “Quiet!” command?
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
This whodunit with humor is the second book in USA Today bestselling author Patricia McLinn’s new cozy mystery series, Secret Sleuth, which begins with a murder on a transatlantic cruise in Death on the Diversion. In Death on Torrid Ave. and later books, accidental investigator Sheila Mackey returns to dry land in the Midwest, where mysteries abound in her new small-town home.
On the spectrum of McLinn’s mystery novels, the Caught Dead in Wyoming cozy series is in the middle, Proof of Innocence is edgier (and has more romance), and Secret Sleuth is a bit less edgy.

Lethal Lemon Bars (MURDER IN THE MIX Book 9) by [Moore, Addison]This is a standalone novel. *A laugh out loud cozy mystery by New York Times bestseller Addison Moore* Each book in the series can be enjoyed on its own but for maximum enjoyment you might want to read them in order.

My name is Lottie Lemon and I see dead pets. On occasion I see a once-upon a human too but mostly it’s just cute little furry beasts who have come back from the other side to warn me of their previous owners impending doom.

A divorce party. Of all the asinine things I’ve been asked to cater, this is at the top of the list. And the guests are some of the wealthiest people I’ve ever met. Everything seems to be going well, but right after the ex-bride and groom make a bonfire out of their legal documents, disaster strikes, and one of my lemon bars just so happens to be in the thick of it. A socialite is murdered right before our eyes, and the blame is quickly pinned on my bakery. I’m going to get to the bottom of this before it ruins me. And while I’m at it, I’m hoping to repair things between Noah and Everett. Lord knows I’ve already ruined things in that department—perhaps forever.

Lottie Lemon has a brand new bakery to tend to, a budding romance with perhaps one too many suitors, and she has the supernatural ability to see dead pets—which are always harbingers for ominous things to come. Throw in the occasional ghost of the human variety, a string of murders, and her insatiable thirst for justice, and you’ll have more chaos than you know what to do with.
