Review:
The writing style flows smoothly and defines the characters very clearly through their words and actions. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and these descriptions pulled me into the story from the very beginning. I felt like I was right there in St.Pete and I sure did enjoy my visit.
The characters are well developed and well rounded. Darwin is a hardworking fun loving woman who cares about people and animals very much. With her special “ability” she is more attuned to animals than most. That could be a good thing or a bad thing, especially when the animal has been traumatized. But she does what she can to help the animals. I enjoyed spending time with Darwin and her friends, especially Sylvia and Frankie. They are some wild women.
The mystery was well plotted and carried on well throughout the book. There were enough clues to sift through and suspects to consider and it was not easily solved. That is how I like my mysteries.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well written cozy mystery. And if you like animals with your cozies, then this book and series is for you. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this fun series.
