Welcome to Normal, Kentucky~ where nothing is normal. A Campers and Criminal Mystery Series is another brainchild of USA Today Bestselling Author Tonya Kappes. If you love her quirky southern characters and small town charm with a mystery to solve, you’re going to love her new cozy mystery series!

Deep in the heart of the Daniel Boone National Forest, Mae West has spent the last few years bringing the rundown Happy Trails Campground and the small southern and cozy town of Normal, Kentucky back to a thriving economic community.

Mae’s efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. Not only is Happy Trails Campground in the running to be named Campground Hospitality of the Daniel Boone National Park, but she landed the coveted Paddle Fest kayak competition that secures the winner a spot on the Olympic team.

When champion and Olympian kayaker Bryce Anderson turns over in his kayak dead…there’s more than paddling going on and his death has been ruled a homicide. News of Bryce’s death spreads fast and Happy Trails becomes the center of bad publicity.

Come camping with Mae West and the Laundry Club Ladies as they put their sleuthing, well nosy, caps on and put their skills to the test so they can figure out who killed the Olympian and save Happy Trails from financial ruin. (Goodreads)

Review:

The characters are well rounded and well developed. The Laundry Club girls are back to help Mae figure out who killed an Olympic quality kayaker. The killer could be any number of people at the campsite and it will not be easy to nab the killer.

The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and I really felt like I was right there with Mae, trying to solve the murder. And she is also very talented in portraying southern life and beliefs. The mystery was well plotted and kept me guessing until the very end.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. I enjoyed spending time with Mae and all of her friends, and I am sure you will too.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and provided my honest review.

Temporary Paws (Kitten Witch Cozy Mystery Series Book 3) by [Corrine Winters]

A spirit is haunting Ember and her pub. You could say she’s got a paw-tergeist.

But that’s not even the worst part. There’s another dead body that’s been found, this time in a nearby inn. The victim? A devious husband who left behind his jilted wife and cheated business partner. Usually a matter for the police, except this time the murder is affecting the reputation of the inn owner, Luka, who is also Ember’s dear friend..

With the help of her beau, Cedric, Ember needs to clear Luka of the crime while finding the suspect. That’s going to be hard because most of the signs point straight to her.

On top of all that, Ember has another mystery she needs to solve. Her boyfriend Cedric claims she had a sister, but Ember doesn’t remember anyone like that from her past. It’s like someone just made the memories just vanish from her mind.

And who in tarnation is haunting her pub? Pranking customers and playing tricks on Ember and her staff?

It’s going to take a wolf-shifter sheriff, a witch, and her snarky feline familiar along with all their friends to close these mysteries to tie up all these loose ends before someone ties Ember up for good!

In the murder way. Not the dating way (It’s not that kind of book!)  (Amazon)

With a foster cow in her corral and a new calf on the way, Brynn MacAlister has a lot on her plate. But when a mysterious tractor accident looks suspiciously like murder, Brynn suspects someone is up to

Some folks say the lead suspect was just defending his underage daughter from a suitor more mature than a vintage provolone, but Brynn isn’t buying it. Especially when another dead body turns up and Brynn’s top cheesemaker falls under suspicion. It’s enough to make a girl bluer than her best Stilton. But not enough to stop Brynn from getting to the bottom of things. What she discovers is the small town harbors some pretty unsavory characters. 15 Minutes of Flame (Nantucket Candle Maker Mystery Book 3) by [Christin Brecher]As Stella Wright’s Nantucket candle store thrives, her knack for solving mysteries burns equally bright—especially when a Halloween haunted house uncovers evidence of a centuries-old murder . . .

When Stella’s friend inherits a creaky, abandoned home in Nantucket, she knows it’s the perfect setting for the town’s annual Halloween fundraiser. A deserted, boarded-up building on the property—once used as a candle-making shop—adds to the creepy ambiance. But as Stella explores the shack’s dilapidated walls, she discovers a terrible secret: the skeleton of a Quaker woman, wrapped in blood-soaked clothing and hidden deep within a stone hearth . . .

While police investigate, Stella wastes no time asking for help from friends with long ties to Nantucket’s intricate history. The key to the murder may lie within a scorching 18th century love triangle that pit two best friends against one another over a dubious man. But before the case is solved, another life will be claimed—leaving Stella to wonder who in Nantucket is friend, and who is foe . . .
