Synopsis:

Cinnamon Peters finds herself running down a violent criminal lurking in the woods of Christmas River…

Pie baker extraordinaire Cinnamon Peters didn’t plan on spending the winter huffing and puffing her way up running trails.

But when her best friend Kara drops out of the annual North Pole 10K race, Cinnamon decides to take her place and join a local running group led by fitness guru and social media influencer Jess Ishida.

Unfortunately, sore muscles and blisters are going to be the least of Cin’s worries this holiday season. Because when she discovers a notorious body-shaming troll clinging to life on a popular running trail and Jess becomes the leading suspect, Cin finds herself pulled into a perplexing mystery where nobody is as innocent as they seem.

Can Cin help Jess outrun the murder rap? Or will she too become trapped in a web of peril?

Trapped in Christmas River is a brand new 40,000 word novella featuring characters from the bestselling Christmas River series.

Review:

The characters are well developed and well rounded.  When her friend Kara asks Cinnamon to run in the North Pole 10K race, Cinnamon cannot tell her no.  One problem is she is out of shape and she cannot run.  The other problem is that a man is found injured on the trail.  Cinnamon will have to figure out who the culprit is and why they did it.

The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and these descriptions helped pull me into the story from the very beginning.  I really like the relationship between Cinnamon and her husband, Daniel.  I could read about them all day.  The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read.  The mystery was well plotted and there were a lot of suspects to consider and clues to sift through.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery.  Whenever I read a book from this author I know I am in for a real treat.
