“Memorable characters, a charming locale, and a satisfying mystery.”–Barbara Allan
When a film crew comes to Mackinac Island, the last thing fudge shop owner Allie McMurphy expects to find is a murder victim . . .
SHOT ON LOCATION
It’s Labor Day weekend, the official end of tourist season, and the beginning of a whole batch of trouble. First, the island is invaded by a TV crew filming a murder mystery pilot, and handsome Hollywood heartthrob Dirk Benjamin needs Allie’s help to prep for his role as local cop Rex Manning. Then, Allie’s bichonpoo Mal sniffs out a real murder in the alley behind the Historic McMurphy Hotel and Fudge Shop, a man shot in the head–with a note challenging amateur sleuth Allie to catch the culprit. Like it or not, the fudge maker has to square off against a crazy killer–but this time she may have bitten off more than she can chew . . .

Review:
The characters are well developed and well rounded. I always enjoy the time I spend with Allie and her friend Jenn, they are funny and you can tell how much they care about each other. They always have each other’s backs, and they would do anything for each other. Allie continues to have two love interests, Trent and Rex, and it is getting a little old to me. I feel she needs to make a decision and move forward or let them both go. That is only my opinion and other readers may not agree with me.
The writing style flows smoothly and it defines the characters very clearly through their actions and words. Mackinac Island, Michigan, came to life in my mind’s eye and I could picture all of the action taking place and hear conversations going on around me. The mystery is well plotted and moved along at a steady pace. There were enough suspects to consider and clues to sift through. I was fooled by who the killer was, and that made me happy.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. I am looking forward to the next book in this series and I hope the resolution of the triangle.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book provided by the publisher, Kensington Books, and NetGalley, which I greatly appreciate.

Birmingham is in its heyday, known as the “Magic City” for its booming steel industry, and while Robert and his family find much to enjoy in the city’s busy markets and vibrant nightlife, it’s also a stronghold for the Klan. Synopsis:
Mini Meadows, a Tiny Home community in rural Central Florida, is home to Emma Wells, a downsize specialist who left her daddy’s mansion and her inheritance behind in favor of a simpler, more peaceful life in a tiny home that was once two shipping containers. But when she opens a shipping container and discovers her dead client sitting in a rocking chair, neatly wrapped and labeled, and two of her friends end up on the suspect list, Emma pitches in to help find the killer. With plenty of clues to unpack, Emma narrows down the suspect list, but as she begins to close in on the culprit, she realizes if she’s not careful she could end up in a box of her own.
Review:
The characters are well rounded and well developed. Emma and her friends, Chloe and Jade, are enjoying their tiny homes. And Granny Rose has come to live with Emma. Emma has a job helping people downsize . She had to downsize herself when she moved into her tiny home and she decided to make a living doing it. When she finds her client dead in a shipping container, she will have to find the killer because a couple of her friends are persons of interest. So that is what she does.
The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and these descriptions pulled me into the story from the very beginning. The mystery was well plotted and there were plenty of suspects to consider and clues to sift through. I did not know who the killer was until it was revealed at the end.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Review:
The characters are well rounded and well developed. Mae and the Laundry Club Ladies have another mystery to solve. The owner of the zipline is found murdered and the ladies will have to figure out who did it. The odd thing about this murder is that the person appeared to be killed on the actual zipline. It is a real mystery!
The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and these descriptions helped me to enjoy this book immensely. The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. The mystery was well plotted and there were plenty of suspects to consider and clues to solve.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. I cannot wait to find out the next mystery the ladies will have to solve.

Bakeries and Buffoonery: Magical Mystery Book Club Paranormal Cozy Mystery 4th in Series Setting – Small Midwestern Town Independently Published (February 15, 2023) Print length : 310 pages Digital ASIN : B0BLLCTKCM
I’m so excited to be a stop on the blog tour for author Elizabeth Pantley and her new book Bakeries And Buffoonery. It is the fourth book in her Magical Mystery Book Mystery.
It’s a magical book club! When this group chooses a book, magic happens. The mystery comes to life, and they find themselves part of the story. To exit the book and get back home, they need to solve the mystery and reach The End.
This time, the club chooses a book called The Great Cake Rivalry, because, well … cake! They read the back cover and it’s unanimous. So off they go into another grand adventure into a town aptly named Frosting.
Frosting is a rural town in an idyllic setting. The people live quiet lives most of the year. But in the spring, things change. The Annual Cake Competition becomes the focus of every man, woman, and child. They take this competition seriously. The cakes are spectacular. The festival is fabulous. For a week there are contests featuring all kinds of cakes. The people of the community become official tasters and vote for the winning cakes in each category.
The grand finale is a display of finely decorated cakes, made by the town’s bakeries. The winner of the best design receives a prize package that would make any baker dizzy.
Sadly, this event has been tainted. Once a year, each one different, but all somehow related to this event, a person is murdered. The main investigator is stumped, but that could be because he’s an inept buffoon.
Can the book club help the people of this community figure out who is causing this disturbing pattern of deaths, and stop another murder from happening? Can they figure out why some of the citizens dress so oddly, and why they always wear those unique backpacks? All while they fill themselves to the brim with cake, of course.

In a book perfect for fans of Sheila Connolly and Donna Leon, the USA Today bestselling author returns readers to County Cork in Ireland’s lush countryside, where locals are simmering with excitement over the reality TV baking contest coming to town —until someone serves up a show-stopping murder that only Garda Siobhan O’Sullivan can solve.
“Distinctive, captivating characters match a gripping plot full of surprises. O’Connor reinforces her place among the top rank of cozy writers.” – Publishers Weekly STARRED REVIEW
In Kilbane, opinions are plentiful and rarely in alignment. But there’s one thing everyone does agree on—the bakery in the old flour mill, just outside town, is the best in County Cork, well worth the short drive and the long lines. No wonder they’re about to be featured on a reality baking show.
All six contestants in the show are coming to Kilbane to participate, and the town is simmering with excitement. Aside from munching on free samples, the locals—including Siobhan—get a chance to appear in the opening shots. As for the competitors themselves, not all are as sweet as their confections. There are shenanigans on the first day of filming that put everyone on edge, but that’s nothing compared to day two, when the first round ends and the top contestant is found face-down in her signature pie. The producers decide to continue filming while Siobhan and her husband, Garda Macdara Flannery, sift through the suspects. Was this a case of rivalry turned lethal, or are their other motives hidden in the mix? And can they uncover the truth before another baker is eliminated—permanently . . .
“Plenty of likely prospects and an endless supply of sweet treats brighten the path to the solution.” – Kirkus Reviews (Amazon)

The next irresistible cosy crime novel from celebrity TV chef Rosemary Shrager!
Preparing a midwinter’s feast for all hundred residents of the little Yorkshire village of Scrafton Busk is exactly the kind of challenge Prudence Bulstrode adores. A chance to show off her muffin-topped winter stew, lamb shank hotpot and Scarborough woof – and, of course, her famous figgy pudding – is just the thing to shake off the winter blues.
But on the night of the feast, local vagabond Terry Chandler is found dead – his body entombed in the pristine snowman standing pride of place on the village green. Who could have wanted Chandler dead? Why would they stow his body in such strange circumstances? And what is the meaning of his last enigmatic message, directing his brother to Mystery Hills, a place of which no one has ever heard?
Crime and cookery continue to collide as Prudence and her granddaughter Suki get drawn into another mystifying murder . . .
Praise for Rosemary Shrager

A baker who sees the dead. One too many suitors.
And a killer. Living in Honey Hollow can be murder.
Cosmopolitan Magazine calls Addison’s books, “…easy, frothy fun!” Humor with a side of homicide.

All books in the series can be read individually, so dive on in!
Includes RECIPE!
My name is Lottie Lemon, and I see dead people. Okay, so I rarely see dead people, mostly I see furry creatures of the dearly departed variety, who have come back from the other side to warn me of their previous owner’s impending doom.
The Fourth of July is upon us and all of Honey Hollow is in a red, white, and blue mood. Cormack Featherby is about to have her baby and while I’m at the hospital helping her do just that I stumble upon a seminar on Near-Death Experiences. And just my luck, I stumble upon a body, too.
It looks as if the Grim Reaper is working overtime and he’s landed me in the wrong place at the wrong time yet again to look like the prime suspect.
Everett is missing. Cressida Bentley is back in town and looks mighty suspicious as she takes up the number one suspect slot in my book. And then there’s the ghost of my grandmother Nell who’s come to visit, and she’s brought along a silkie chicken named Fluffernutter to help solve the case.
The Fourth of July is going to be explosive this year.
It’s summer in Honey Hollow and the heat isn’t the only thing that has the residents sweating—so does a killer.
Lottie Lemon has a brand new bakery to tend to, a budding romance with perhaps one too many suitors, and she has the supernatural ability to see the dead—which are always harbingers for ominous things to come. Throw in a string of murders, and her insatiable thirst for justice, and you’ll have more chaos than you know what to do with.

A magical inn bursting with paranormal delight. A picture-perfect seaside town filled with humans who don’t know about their witchy neighbors. This cozy fantasy series has mystery, magic, and a splash of romance!
Up until a week ago, my only knowledge of magic came from the movies. Unfortunately, it didn’t stay that way.
A bout of insomnia leads to witnessing a scene that belongs in a vampire flick—only, the fangs looked way more realistic. One second, I was running for my life, and the next, I found myself choking on a hairball in the back of an SUV.
That’s right … a hairball. See, my body’s been hiding a pretty big secret, and I’m some kind of witch. One that turns into a cat when under duress.
Apparently, my choices are fight, flight, or … fur.
Overnight, I find myself thrust into a world of magic and mayhem beyond my most wild sleep-deprived delirium. Until the murderous vampire is captured, I’m placed into some kind of witch-ness protection program, and sent to live in a house full of actual monsters.
What’s the worst that could happen?
Hey, at least running for my life will help me squeeze in my cardio.
