Review:

Death of a Wolfman is the first book in a new series and it had everything I look for in a cozy: great characters, great small town setting, humor and a well plotted mystery.

The characters are well rounded and well developed.  Lily Gayle is a smart sassy nosy woman who can take care of herself.  And I really enjoyed getting to know her better.  The relationship between her and her cousin was a love/hate relationship, but in the end, love won out.  I enjoyed the bantering and bickering between them and at times I was laughing out loud while I was reading.  Dixie and Miss Edna added a lot to the story and were great characters to spend time with.

The writing style flows smoothly and the book is a quick easy read.  The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and through much of the book I felt like I was right there, watching all the action taking place around me.  The small town southern community was created perfectly and seemed very lifelike to me.

The mystery was well written and was carried on well throughout the entire book.  The concept of a wolfman was unique and helped make this book stand out from others, in my opinion. There were enough suspects and twists and turns that it made figuring out the mystery a difficult task.  I did pick up on a few clues but I did not fully figure out who the killer was until it was revealed at the end.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery.  I really enjoyed this book a lot and I am excited that this is the beginning of a new series and I cannot wait to read more books by this author.
