Review:
The characters are well developed and well rounded. Daphne is a busy person, running her Lucky Paws petsitting business and Flour Power, her pet bakery. But that does not stop her from becoming involved in a murder investigation. When her sister Daphne’s, fiance, Roger, is a person of interest in a murder investigation, she is determined to find the real culprit. I enjoy any time I get to spend with Daphne and her family (except her mother), friends and boyfriend. Moxie, Daphne’s best friend, is quirky and unusual, and I love it. And Socrates, her basset hound, is one of my favorite book animals of all time. I love the way that Daphne and him communicate.
The writing style flows smoothly and it defines the characters very clearly through their actions and words. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and this description pulled me into the story from the very beginning. I felt like I was right there in Sylvan Creek, Pennsylvania, watching all of the action taking place and listening in on conversations.
The mystery was well plotted and tightly woven. There were plenty of suspects to consider and clues to sift through and it was not easy to solve, which is how I like my mysteries.
I would highly recommend this book (and series) to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. Whenever I have a new book to read in the Lucky Paws Petsitting series, I know I am in for a great treat.
