Review:
The characters are well rounded, well developed and three dimensional. Charli is someone who will do whatever needs to be done, even though she may not want to. She is gutsy and smart and I really liked her alot. I also enjoyed the feisty and quirky Scarlett, a high school friend of Charli’s. She made me laugh out loud a few times. And there are also a couple of possible love interests for Charli, and I cannot wait to see where that leads.
And who could not fall in love with Princess, Charli’s father’s pink armadillo. I enjoyed her antics and cannot wait to read more about her.
The mystery was well thought out and it kept me guess until it was revealed at the end. There were enough suspects to consider and enough twists and turns that I thought I had it figured out a couple of times, only to be proven wrong.
The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and I found myself wishing I could visit Hazel Rock in real life (I guess I will have to settle for visiting whenever I read any more of this series).
I loved the small town feel of Hazel Rock and how neighbor’s helped each other out, and also how everyone knew everyone’s business.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. With quirky likable characters and a well plotted mystery, this is a book you do not want to miss.
