Review:

The characters are well rounded and three dimensional.  Seeing as how this is the first book in the series that I have read, I did not have any trouble keeping up with the characters and story.  I enjoyed getting to meet Heather and Amy, who are friends and private investigators. Heather also owns a donut shop. They have a great relationship and you can tell that they are good friends and will do anything for the other.  I also got to meet Digby, who is an employee of Heather’s and learned that he has a part in a local play.

One of the things that I found refreshing in this book is that Heather and Amy are not constantly butting heads with law  Two reasons for this is that they are private investigators themselves and that Heathor is married to a detective.

The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read.  This book is dialogue driven and we are privy to many of the conversations between Heather and Amy.  The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and through much of the book I felt like I was right there helping them solve the mystery, which was not easy to figure out.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery.  It was entertaining and I am glad that I read it.
